Concrete base poured for west lanes of downtown

The paving contractor has finished pouring the concrete road base downtown along the western portion of Main Street, from Oak to Lehman streets. The remainder of this week will be dedicated to preparing the site for installation of the intermediate course of asphalt. It is anticipated that the intermediate course of asphalt will be installed beginning Monday, Aug. 5.

Once the intermediate course of asphalt is applied along the western portion of Main Street, traffic will then be shifted and a similar construction pattern will take place on the northbound lanes of Main Street.

Once this process is complete on Main Street, the contractor will then move onto Wooster Street from Church Street to Prospect Street. After the entire project area has the intermediate course of asphalt applied, the contractor will then begin the various concrete repairs along the sidewalks and ADA
ramps.

Once complete, the final surface course of asphalt will be applied. Weather dependent and progress of work, paving is anticipated to last through October.

The separate water line project on East Court Street from Main Street to Prospect Street has begun on the portion closest to Main Street. Crews will continue to work on the main line and will follow up with services and fire lines. This work is anticipated to last into September. During this process, access to City Lot 1 will be maintained as much as possible.

The timeline above is dependent upon progress of work and weather. Continued patience with the ongoing construction is appreciated by city officials. Questions about this work may be directed to the Engineering Division at 419-354-6227.
