Construction barrel stolen in BG found being used as home decor

Who knew that construction barrels were the new rage in home decorating?

Bowling Green Police cited two people on Thursday for receiving stolen property after a citizen reported seeing a construction barrel being put in a Jeep in the city parking lot behind North Main Street, off East Court Street.

Police Chief Tony Hetrick said this morning that the construction barrel was located at 329 N. Enterprise St., where residents Chad Newell, 21, and Taylor Weghorst, 21, were charged with receiving stolen property.

“People like to use them as decor in their home,” Hetrick said. “People seem to like road signs or anything construction related.”
