Cornhole tournament for Wood County employees raises money for local charities

Wood County employees compete in cornhole tournament in the county atrium to raise money for charities.

Wood County employees competed in a cornhole tournament for charity Wednesday in the atrium of the Wood County Courthouse complex.

This is the second annual cornhole tournament held the day before Thanksgiving, according to Wood County Auditor Matt Oestreich.

A total of 36 teams, from all different county departments, participated this year. Each team contributed $20 to be part of the competition. The winning teams get to pick the charities in the county to benefit from the event.

According to Oestreich, the charity tournament is the brainchild of Wood County Clerk of Courts Doug Cubberley and Wood County Common Pleas Judge Matt Reger.
