County has 255 COVID cases; first case identified in BG long-term care facility

Wood County has 255 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, as of the Wednesday, May 20, update from the Wood County Health Department.

A total of 43 people with the virus in Wood County have died. 

Of the 43 who have died, 22 were females, and 21 were males. Six were in their 60s, nine in their 70s, 20 in their 80s, and eight in their 90s.

Of the total 255 cases in Wood County, 188 are in long-term care facilities – 126 are residents and 62 are staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

As of this week, the following facilities have cases:

  • SKLD Perrysburg: 49 residents, 7 staff.
  • Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 43 residents, 17 staff.
  • Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 20 staff.
  • The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 4 staff.
  • Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 13 staff.
  • Otterbein Pemberville: 0 residents, 1 staff.
  • Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 0 staff.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, 34 of Wood County’s 43 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.

Of the total 255 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 100, with the median age of 62. Of the local cases, 156 are females and 99 are males.

A total of 63 Wood County residents are currently hospitalized for the virus.
