County under a Winter Weather Advisory starting midday Saturday

The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:

National Weather Service has place most of northern Ohio under a Winter Weather Advisory Saturday (2-8-25) from 1 p.m. to Sunday at 1 a.m.

We can expect dry conditions are likely through noon Saturday. Towards 1 p.m., expect snow to develop from south to north across the county with a change over to a mix of rain and snow across the southern portion of the county by 2 p.m.. The far northern part of the county may continue to see snow through the rest of Saturday afternoon with a mix of rain and snow changing over to freezing rain in southern portions of the county later Saturday afternoon.

As the system departs Saturday evening, expect precipitation to switch over to light snow throughout the county with dry conditions returning by midnight Sunday. Snow accumulation could approach up to 1-1.5 inches, especially across the northern portion of the county. Up to a light glaze of ice is expected in southern areas. Expect some slushy road conditions to develop as pavement temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20s through the duration of the event.
