A patient in the Wood County Hospital emergency department was taken to Wood County jail after he reportedly threatened staff Tuesday evening.

Lucas Townsend, 40, of Cygnet, was arrested by Bowling Green Police for menacing, disorderly conduct, and intoxication to the point of being unable to care for himself.

Police were dispatched to the hospital around 10:45 p.m. for a patient harassing and yelling at staff and patients.

A nurse reported to police that Townsend made several sexual comments to her. A hospital security guard was asked to speak with the patient about his behavior. The guard said Townsend made statements such as “I’ll cut your head off” and “I’ll go home and get my gun.”
