Daniel “Hank” W. Eckel, 80 from Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 22, 2024.

Dan was a cadet at Nazareth Hall Military Academy in Grand Rapids, OH and a member of Bowling Green High. Dan was a tool and die maker his entire life retiring from Rayfield’s and Associates in Perrysburg, OH. Dan enjoyed traveling out west and camping in the Arizona mountains. He was quite the outdoorsman and loved the beauty of nature. Dan will always be remembered as someone who could build, invent, or fix anything and most of all for his love of family. Remembering every Sunday morning with the grandchildren, a box of donuts and chocolate milk, and the excitement on their faces walking away with a buck or two will always be a precious memory. Dan was married to Christine from 1988-1993. Christine then became his caretaker in 2014 and has been by his side through his illness.

Dan is survived by brother Richard Eckel (Patricia) Berlin Hts. OH., 3 sisters, Sister Diana Lynn of Sylvania, OH., Darlene Minnick (Joe) Bowling Green, OH., Debbie Wilson Bowling Green, OH., Sister in-law Donajean Eckel and lifelong friend Christine Bosworth Milan, OH. 2 children Amy Miller (Ron) of Berlin Hts. OH, Kyle Ezell (Angel) of Bowling Green, OH. 4 grandchildren Megan (Nate) Toledo, OH., Logan (Abby) Toledo, OH., Kylie (Gavin) McClure, OH., Justin Berlin Hts. OH., and two great grandchildren Barrett and Harper.

Daniel was proceeded in death by his parents Howard and Marguarite Eckel of Bowling Green, OH., brother Dave Eckel of Bowling Green, OH., infant sister Dorothy and brother in-law Bruce Wilson of Bowling Green, OH.

A celebration of life will be held at Otsego Park 20000 W. River Rd. Bowling Green, OH on February 18th 2024 from 1pm-5pm. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
