Darlene A. “Dar” Snyder, 62, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Monday December 16, 2019. She was born February 26, 1957 in Bowling Green to the late Leonard and Betty (Stephens) Dilsaver. She married Jerry Snyder on December 6, 1993 and he survives in Bowling Green.
Dar served her country proudly as a nurse in the United Stated Army during Operation Desert Storm. She received several honors while serving including the Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.
Dar was a member of the VFW Post 1148 in Bowling Green. She was a founding member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. She adored her cats and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Along with her husband of 26 years, Jerry, Dar is survived by her children Lacy (Jayme) Cox of Missoula, Montana, Dustin (Jackie) Snyder of Holland, Ohio and Brandon (Jessica) Snyder of Toledo, Ohio, grandchildren Claire, Margaret, Isaac, Kayla, Ari, Ava and Roman and siblings David (Mary) Dilsaver of Bowling Green, Ohio, Larry (Dee) Dilsaver of Somerset, Kentucky, Donald (Kim) Dilsaver of Hillsboro, Tennessee and Ann Dilsaver (James Zeigler) of Perrysburg, Ohio.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday December 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Pastor Paul Lange will officiate. Interment will follow at Wood County Memory Gardens in Bowling Green where full Military Honors will be rendered by the Wood County Honor Detail. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
