David Alan Welling, 50, formerly of Luckey, OH presently of Litchfield Park, AZ passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2016. David was born on Dec. 19, 1965 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Russell and Jane Welling. He grew up in Luckey, Ohio and attended Eastwood High School, graduating in 1984. At Eastwood he was an honor student and played golf all four years. David was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Luckey. He attended St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science. He met the love of his life, Gina, and the two married on June 5, 1993. Together, they had one son and two daughters. David worked as a Physician’s Assistant, helping others in need, for more than 25 years. David was an avid sports fan and loved the Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Cardinals, along with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved to tell jokes and his smile and laughter were contagious.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Gina, their children: Joshua, Morgan and Madison, parents: Russell and Jane Welling, brothers: Mark (Sonya) Welling and Jim (Susan) Welling and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 12 Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 301 W Wigwam Blvd, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. Burial will follow at 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. After the service, a celebration of David’s life will be held at the church.
