Deborah Lee Klasen, 70, of Bowling Green, Ohio, died at home with her loved ones on October 24, 2023.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1953 to Calvin and Gwendolyn Hartley. Deborah attended Owens Community College where she graduated with a degree in Nursing. She went on to work at several health care facilities before settling at Woodhaven in 2008. Before obtaining a degree, she worked for 27 years as an emergency dispatcher for Bowling Green State University. Deborah thoroughly enjoyed her work and had a strong desire to help others.
Deborah had many passions including visiting the casino and traveling. She took her children and grandchildren on cruises and trips where they created lifelong memories. She loved attending all of her kids and grandkids events – there wasn’t a ball game, dance recital, or graduation she missed. Deborah had a kind and loving heart and will be deeply missed by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father Calvin Hartley and her brothers Jeff Hartley and Allen Hartley.
She is survived by her mother, Gwendolyn Hartley, sons Aaron Fretter and Daniel Klasen, daughter Charlotte Chancey, and grandchildren Gabriel Fretter, Raphael Fretter, Angela Fretter, Jeanette Fretter, and Eliza Klasen.
Visiting hours will be held from 12pm-2pm on November 4, 2023, at the Tontogany Calvary Church, with a memorial service to follow.
