Delores J. Ballard, age 84, of Luckey, OH passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born on March 1, 1932 in Stony Ridge, OH to Carl and Alice (Bihn) Hazel. On October 11, 1952 she married Allan Ballard in Stony Ridge and he survives. Along with her husband, she waso co-owner of Ballard’s Body Shop from 1965-2007 and also worked at the Exchange Bank from 1950-1965 and then again from 1977-2003 both of Luckey. Her memberships included: Faith UnitedMethodist Church, Faithful Workers Women’s Group, former member of Troy-Webster American Legion Auxiliary Unit #240, 8/40 Wood County Salon #741, Troy Twp. Fire Department Troyettes, Troy Twp EMS and OES Woodbine Chapter #61. In her spare time she enjoyed photography, cooking, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Delores is survived by her husband of 63 years: Allan, daughter: Susan (Guenter) Schlecht of Oregon, son: Tom Ballard of Luckey, grandchildren: Joseph Ballard, Jenny (Greg) Alvarez and Garrett Ballard, great grandchildren: Jaydon, Gregory and Ashlyn Gonzalez, brother: Ronald (Virginia) Hazel of Luckey, nephews: Robert Hazel, Leo Snyder, Charles Schulte, niece: Betty Hazel Schulte, sister-in-law: Joyce Snyder and several close first cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant baby girl and grandson: Travis Flinchum.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, Luckey, OH with additional visitation from 10 AM until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Peter Johnston. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey. A bereavement luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services. Memorial contributions may be given to: Faith United Methodist Church.
