Dennis “Zeke” Zalinski, 75, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on August, 2, 2023. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 29, 1947 to the late Anthony and Adeline (Wierzbicki) Zalinski. He married Barbara (Snell) Zalinski on August 21, 1971 and she survives him.
Zeke is also survived by his children: Matt (Ondrea) Zalinski and Melissa Zalinski. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tony Zalinski.
Zeke earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and went on to teach at Springfield and Solon. He last taught construction electricity at PENTA and retired in 2009. Zeke took pride in the houses his classes built every year. In retirement he enjoyed driving a shuttle bus at BGSU and mounting butterflies, a hobby he picked up from his late brother. Zeke and his wife enjoyed vacations from the Mediterranean to Alaska and everywhere in between. He especially enjoyed family cruises in the Caribbean and family camping trips. Zeke was an avid supporter of BGSU athletics, where he attended almost every home game of both the women’s basketball and men’s hockey teams. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions in Zeke’s honor may be gifted to the American Heart Association.
Visitation for Zeke will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 pm at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green. Burial will immediately follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
