Deonte the dog is the ‘perfect work at home partner’ waiting for his own bed to curl up on

Deonte

Deonte, a 5- or 6-year-old pittie, was brought to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray. According to Wood County Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding, Deonte is a “huge love bug and the perfect work at home partner.”

“He spends his days in my office and doesn’t make a peep. He will get up occasionally for some pets, but then goes back to sleep. He seems to do well with the other dogs at the shelter and hasn’t met a stranger yet,” Harding said.

Deonte was found running in a corn field, and it’s unknown how long he was out there before being brought to the shelter. He is skinny and had some bad flea allergies when he came in, but is on the mend.  He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his shots.

The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays.
