Douglas “Doug” Cook, age 76, of Bowling Green, OH passed away at Wood County Hospital on Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was born on May 15, 1947 in Toledo, OH to Richard A. & Bonnie J. (Emch) Cook. Doug served his nation in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He would go on to marry Kathleen Beckman on July 3, 1970 in Pemberville, OH. Together, Doug and Kathy would raise a son and daughter and celebrated nearly 53 years of marriage.
He was employed at and retired from Bowling Green State University as a building maintenance supervisor after 28 years. Doug was a lifelong member of the Pemberville American Legion Freedom Post 183. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pemberville. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and loved ones. He also enjoyed playing cards, driving around with Kathy on their golf cart, taking walks & tossing back an ice cold PBR with family & friends.
In addition to his wife Kathy, Doug is survived by his children: Julie (Mike) Ernest of Findlay and Jeff (Jenn) Cook of Bowling Green. Three granddaughters and two great-grandsons also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Cook & Bonnie Vaughn, step-father Joseph Vaughn and brother Ron Cook.
