Downtown construction wrapping up, but Wooster will need to be closed Nov. 25 and 26

The contractor working on the downtown reconstruction project has nearly finished adjusting the manholes and utility valve boxes along with installing concrete collars on Main Street. Dependent upon weather, this work on Main Street is scheduled to be complete on Monday.

The contractor is scheduled to return on Nov. 25 to adjust the manholes and utility valve boxes along with installing concrete collars on Wooster Street. In order to expedite this process and to ensure the safety of the traveling public and construction crews, East and West Wooster will close while this occurs.

Both sections of Wooster Street will close to traffic on Nov. 25 and then reopen in the afternoon of Nov. 26. By doing so, the contractor will be able to core the manholes and utility valve boxes spread out throughout each section of Wooster, pour the concrete collars, and then allow the concrete to cure properly before traffic is restored.

The intersection of Main and Wooster will remain open throughout this process, allowing for north and south traffic to continue.

Certain punch list items remain, which may result in temporary parking restrictions or impacts to traffic.
