A 20-year-old woman died Monday (8-14-2023) in a single car crash in the 9300 block of Cygnet Road in Bloom Township.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene at 6:45 p.m.
The investigation showed that Alexandria Whitacre, 20, of rural Rudolph, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata westbound on Cygnet Road when her vehicle drifted into the on-coming lane of travel, then went off the roadway striking a guardrail and bridge.
Whitacre was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, where she was later pronounced dead.
Assisting on location was Bloomdale Fire & EMS, Cygnet Fire, North Baltimore EMS, and Or’s Towing.
The incident is still under investigation.
