A Lima man was injured when his car went off the road during a rain storm earlier this evening (6-5-2025) on Interstate 75 southbound at milepost 181 in Bowling Green.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Bowling Green Post was called to the scene of the crash at 7:48 p.m. Amari Island, 26, Lima, was traveling southbound on I-75 in a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, drove off the right side of the roadway, and struck a ditch. Island was not wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported by EMS to Wood County Hospital.
Bowling Green Fire and EMS assisted on scene, along with BG Towing.
The state patrol reminds motorists to slow down during adverse weather and buckle up before hitting the road.
