Wood County Hospital’s first baby of 2023 arrived Jan. 2 at 5:31 p.m.
Jasmine John and Fred Coleman welcomed their fifth child, Elias Messiah Coleman, who weighed in at 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and 19 inches long. He is the couple’s first child born at Wood County Hospital.
To celebrate the new year, Elias received a 2023 outfit made by Amanda Barndt, niece of Obstetrics Director Lisa Barndt, and a blanket donated by a community member. His parents were treated to a special meal by the hospital’s Dietary Services team and received a gift bag of baby supplies and a commemorative tile of Elias’s footprints that will be displayed on the First Footprints wall outside the Family Birthing Center entrance. The footprint tile was donated by the Wood County Hospital Foundation.
