Former Bowling Green State University economics professor Timothy Fuerst has died at 54.
According to the news service at Notre Dame University where Fuerst was William and Dorothy O’Neill Professor of Economics, he died following a 10-month battle with stomach cancer.
Fuerst taught at BGSU for 19 years and was named a Distinguished Research Professor before leaving for Notre Dame in 2012.
Fuerst conducted research on monetary theory and policy, with a special focus on business cycles. In addition to his faculty appointment, he also served as senior economic adviser at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
