The Wood County Dog Shelter is looking to find homes for canines that have been at the shelter for a month or more.
“We would love to get them in a home for the holidays,” said Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding. They are all spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.
- Randle, a 4-5-year-old pittie mix that does well with other dogs and seems OK with cats. “He loves everybody he meets and loves to hang out in the office,” Harding said.
- Indie, a 5-6-year-old pittie mix that came to the shelter emaciated and “needed a lot of TLC. She is a complete sweetheart and left her past behind her. She does well with other dogs, and loves every human she has met so far.”
- Pudge, a 3-year-old mix that came in as a stray. “He is a little bundle of energy and would love an active home. He does well with other dogs, and would be a permanent lap dog if allowed.”
- Chip, the old man of the group, is an 8-year-old pittie that came in as a stray. His former owner was contacted, but never came in to reclaim him. “He loves to spend the day in the office and just sleep the day away. He walks great on a leash and is a very calm gentleman,” Harding said. “He can be a little picky about his dog friends and would prefer to be the only canine in your life.”
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
