Fourth Wood County resident dies from COVID-19

A fourth Wood County resident – a woman in her 60s with underlying health conditions – has died after contracting COVID-19.

Wood County has 59 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, according to the daily update from the Wood County Health Department on Monday, April 13.

As of today, 17 of those with the virus reside in long-term care facilities in the county. A total of 24 are hospitalized. Wood County Hospital, on Friday, had two patients who tested positive for COVID-19. 

Those with the virus range in age from 6 to 96, with the median age of 59. Of those, 35 are female, 24 are male.

No additional information about the 59 Wood County residents will be provided by the health department in order to protect their privacy.
