Frances P. Stricklen-Courtney, 84 of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away, Thursday, July 7, 2016.
Frances was born in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Ernest and Gladys (Johnston) Laytart. She married Bill Stricklen in 1949 and he preceded her in death. After the death of her first husband, Frances married George Courtney in 1971 and he preceded her in death as well.
Frances is survived by her sons: David (Flo) Stricklen, of North Baltimore, Ohio; Daniel Stricklen, of Dunbridge, Ohio; Michael Stricklen of Huntington Beach , California; step-daughters: Debra Lootens, of Findlay, Ohio; Sandra Fincher, of North Carolina; step-sons: Michael Courtney and George Courtney Jr., both of Findlay, Ohio; a sister: Irene Brown, of Bowling Green, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren Along with her parents and husbands; Frances was preceded in death by a daughter: Vivian Snyder.
Frances retired from Bowling Green State University after 31 years as the manager over the Student Food Service. She enjoyed going to the Wood County Senior Citizens Center and participating in the various programs and activities offered. Frances especially enjoyed playing Bingo, doing crafts, puzzles and crochet.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Union Hill Cemetery with Pastor Doug McKinney officiating.
