Franklin ‘Frank’ Knauss

Franklin M. Knauss of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Thursday January 3, 2019. He was born July 27, 1939 in Weston, Ohio to Franklin M. & Louise A. (Curry) Knauss Sr. He married Connie Dauterman on November 19, 1961, she survives him in Bowling Green. Franklin was a 1957 graduate of Bowling Green High School and a 1959 graduate of Andrew Barber College in Toledo. Frank began barbering at The Hotel Barber Shop in Bowling Green. He purchased a shop in Delta and later purchased a shop in Toledo called the Westbrook Barber Shop. He cut hair for 19 years, eventually selling his shop to a close friend. Frank then farmed the Knauss Family Farm south of Bowling Green for 30 years, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of Mt. Zion United Brethren Church in Wayne and also attended the Thessalon Church of Christ in Canada. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren fishing and boating at their cabin in Bright Lake Ontario, Canada.

Along with his wife, Frank is survived by his sisters Phyllis Wohler and Linda (Jerry) Crawford; daughter: Tonya (Doug) Miller and son: Todd (Melissa) Knauss; grandchildren: Zackery Knauss, Max Miller, Kaila Miller, Anna Knauss, Sarah Knauss, and Wyatt Knauss and a sister in-law Pat Knauss. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Knauss.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 2-5 PM and 6-8 PM at DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster St. Bowling Green, Ohio.  Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion United Brethren Church 7481 Bays Rd. Wayne, Ohio with an addition hour of visitation from 10-11 AM. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery.
