Lunch customers and employees at Frickers were evacuated around 11:10 this morning after a fire started at the restaurant at 1720 E. Wooster St. Bowling Green Fire Chief Bill Moorman said the fire was accidental, possibly caused by grease above the exhaust system over the grill.
The restaurant suffered smoke damage throughout the building, and part of the roof and insulation had to be pulled apart to make sure the fire was out, Moorman said.
Frickers remains closed, and will likely take a couple days before reopening. “They’ve got some cleaning up to do,” the chief said.
