From GAS DISC GOLF
GAS Disc Golf, a Bowling Green based non-profit organization that promotes disc golf with a community focus, will host Thirstin’ @ Mary Jane, Saturday, Aug. 6 from 3-8 p.m. at Mary Jane Thurston Park.
The event will mark the official opening of the disc golf course at Mary Jane Thurston Park. All the baskets and teepads will be installed.
The event is free for all ages to attend along with any skill level. Plenty of GAS Disc Golf members will be there to assist. There will be 21+ permit area as well with craft beer from six local breweries:
- Wild Side
- Quenched & Tempered
- Funky Turtle
- Brewing Green
- Patron Saints
- Earnest Brew Works
Along with the local craft beer, food will be available to everyone by Weenie Dawgs and there will also be a local disc golf shop there for anyone interested in buying discs (Disco Disc Golf Supply)!
Tickets can be purchased for the permit area. Tickets are for 3oz beer samples. Below are the prices:
- Presale tickets: $35 for 20 tickets
- Day of tickets: $40 for 20 tickets
- Day of tickets: $35 for 10 tickets
Tickets can be purchased via PayPal (@gasdisc) or cash.
NOTE: PayPal payments will require a $2 fee.
The event was first held last summer and it was successful in raising the funds to completely cover the costs of the installation. The project brought in 19 founding sponsorships. Each of those founding sponsors are sponsoring a specific hole and they will have their branding go on their respective hole’s teesign (plus the practice basket).
The course at Mary Jane Thurston State Park is 18 holes plus a practice basket and will play through the day area and in the woods around the campground.
