A natural gas leak at the corner of Haskins Road and Parker Street this morning has caused the evacuation of residents in the immediate area.
Bowling Green Public Services Director Joe Fawcett said the gas leak was noticed around 8:42 this morning. Columbia Gas crews were on the site, as well as Bowling Green police and fire divisions.
Construction crews have been working in the area on installing new water and sewer lines, but Fawcett said it’s unknown what caused the gas leak.
The residents near the leak were sent to Wood County Hospital. There are no concerns about the gas leak affecting the hospital, Fawcett.
