Glenn L. ‘Joe’ Adams

Glenn L. “Joe” Adams, 94, of Portage passed away Wednesday March 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born on July 27, 1922 in Antwerp, Ohio to the late Earl V. and Iva (Hartsell) Adams. He married Dorothy Smith on September 26, 1942 in Covington, Kentucky. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 74 years Dorothy, his daughter: Linda Foster of Portage, sons: David and Mark (Connie) Adams of Portage, grandchildren Steve (Amy) Foster, Gary Foster, Ken (Angela) Foster, Tami Adams, Matt Adams, Michael Adams, Jim (Karen) Adams and Jenny (Todd) Brown; twenty great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his daughter in-law Becky Adams, son in-law Larry Foster; a brother and five sisters.

Joe was a 1942 graduate of the Liberty High School and was a lifelong farmer. For twenty five years, Joe was a bus driver for Westwood, Liberty and Bowling Green Schools. He was a member of the Rudolph Christian Church where he served as a Deacon. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, where he bowled on the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home team, baseball and also coached summer softball and cheering on the Cleveland Indians.

Visitation will be on Saturday March 4, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until the time of Joe’s funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster St., P.O Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, with Pastor Larry Garzony, officiating. Interment will follow in the Sargent Cemetery.
