In support of Habitat for Humanity of Wood County, eight teams will compete in the third annual Hockey for Habitat charity ball hockey tournament on Sept. 29.
The event will raise thousands of dollars to support the first Habitat home to be built in Bowling Green. Future Homeowner, Marlene Lerch will make the ceremonial ball drop.
The event will feature retired Walleye great Kyle Rogers, and WTOL meteorologist Ryan Wichman, among others, who will participate as Free Agents. Also playing will be local Habitat Executive Director Mark Ohashi.
There will be activities for the entire family, including a skills activity area.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Bowling Green City Park outdoor hockey rink.
Habitat for Humanity of Wood County partners with people in Wood County and all over the world to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Since its inception, Habitat for Humanity of Wood County has built 39 homes.
