Harold K Yoder Sr. loving husband, father and grandfather, 79, of Portage, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018.
Harold was born to Rev. Truman J. and Pearl Bateson Yoder on June 1, 1938 and they preceded him in death along with his infant sister Barbara Sue. Harold married Rev. Rose E. (McCurdy) Yoder, and she survives him after 51 years of marriage. Along with his wife, Harold is survived by his daughters: Deborah S. (Dan) Santogrossi of Bowling Green; Valery K. (Mark) Anderson of Chesterfield, Michigan; Patricia L. (Frank) Coss of Katy, Texas; sons: Harold K. (Linda) Yoder Jr. of Bowling Green; Scott T. (Lisa) Yoder of Waterville; Todd A. (Jessie) Yoder of Bowling Green; Jeremiah D. (Julie) Yoder of Whitehouse; seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother: Gary L. (Carole) Yoder; a sister: Kathryn A. (Thomas) Haswell both of Bowling Green; and several nephews and nieces.
Harold’s working career included working for the Kroger Co. for 23 years, Bowling Green City Schools as a head custodian for Crim Elementary, a licensed boiler operator for 23 years and a crossing guard for the Bowling Green Police Department. Harold was very active in the community until his age and declining health caught up to him. He loved being around children and they loved being around him. Harold was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bowling Green.
Visitation for Harold will be on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 10:00AM until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 Noon in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster St., P.O Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Wayne, Ohio.
