‘Healthy for the Holidays’ program for families to focus on eating right and exercising

The Community Learning Centers organization is hosting a “Healthy for the Holidays” event for Wood and Lucas County CLC families on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 5:30 p.m., at the Wood County Educational Service Center.

The event will focus on tips and tricks to stay healthy this holiday season. There will be two guest speakers educated in the field of exercise science and nutrition to teach fun and easy ways for the whole family to stay moving this winter, and how to do meal prep, budget at the grocery store, and cost-effective ways to stay fit.

Families will receive free childcare while they attend the parent portion of the event. Children will have a pizza party, food tasting, a smoothie station, and apple stamping. Every child will get to take home a free lunch box that includes kid-friendly knives, cutting boards, and a skip-hop toy.

Parents will receive a free salad and sub dinner along with reusable bags, workout dice, and a magnet meal planner. Gift bags are for families who RSVP.

The Community Learning Centers will also have multiple raffle prizes like a food blender, crockpot, and exercise ball along with gift cards to go grocery shopping at Meijers.
