Howard A. Williams, 89, of Tontogany, Ohio passed away Sunday September 11, 2016. He was born on March 22, 1927 to John and Bertha Williams. He married Virginia Goodger in March 1951 and she preceded him in death in 2010.
Howard was a member of the American Legion Post 441 in Tontogany, the Masonic Lodge in Grand Rapids and the Odd Fellows. He was a Tontogany Councilman and also served on the Tontogany Board of Public Affairs. He was a member of the Oak Park Gang and the Irish Hills Car Club. Howard worked for many years at the Weston Post Office and later as an engineer at BGSU.
He is survived by his daughter Connie (Jerry) Whalen of Neapolis, Ohio, son Kevin (Debbie) Williams of Bowling Green, Ohio, sister Reva Kiersey of Kingston, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, brothers Carl Williams, Jim Williams and Ned Williams and sister Norma Kope.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington Street Tontogany, Ohio. His funeral service will be held on Thursday September 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Tontogany Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered by the Wood County Honor Detail and the American Legion Post 441.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wood Haven Health Care and Bridge Hospice for the wonderful care they took of Howard.
