I-75 crash injures Toledo driver

A Toledo man was injured in a three-vehicle crash this afternoon (12-13-23) on I-75 near the Ohio 582 exit.

Troopers from the Bowling Green Ohio State Highway Patrol Post responded to the crash at milepost 188 in Middleton Township at 2:13 p.m.

The crash occurred when Yusef Burnett, 27, of Toledo, driving a 2012 Ford Escape southbound in the left lane abruptly switched lanes to the right. He lost control of his vehicle and struck the side of a southbound 2021 Freightliner semi tractor-trailer combination driven by Robert Hill, 42, of Beloit, Wisconsin, in the right lane and then struck a southbound 2004 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Abigail McPeak, 24, of Bowling Green, in the center lane. 

Burnett’s vehicle and  McPeak’s vehicle both went off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cable. Burnett’s vehicle overturned onto its side in the median.

Burnett, who was not wearing a seatbelt was transported to Perrysburg Mercy Hospital by Middleton Township EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hill and McPeak were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Middleton Township Fire Department, Middleton Township EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, Bubba’s Towing and BG Towing.

The patrol is investigating the crash.
