Charges have been dropped in the case of a man charged with inducing panic when he carried a firearm on the Bowling Green State University campus.
Daniel Patrick Seymour, 39, of Bowling Green, was charged on April 18 after a witness claimed he waved a hand gun while walking on campus. He said he was simply rearranging his sweat shirt so the weapon was visible. Bowling Green State University police issued an alert to the campus community to shelter in place.
Seymour’s court appearance was on May 26.
The case prompted two Second Amendment rights demonstrators to visit campus later that week to assert their right to openly carry firearms on campus.
The two incidents led to questions about how the university handles such incidents.
