Jamee R. Bernthisel, 55, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully February 6, 2024 with family and friends by her side. She was born May 31, 1968 in Bowling Green to James Bernthisel and Stanna (Richards) Golbinec.
Jamee was full of life and left a profound impact on everyone that she met. Jamee enjoyed playing games, camping with her mom, trips to Utah to visit her friend Darla, Thursday night Bingo at the Tontogany Legion and was always up for a trip to the casino. She was involved with Woodlane, and participated in the many activities that they provide. She loved FaceTiming her friends and family and spending time with them any chance she could. Jamee was a strong supporter of Taco Bell, Subway, Marcos & McDonald’s, and anybody reading this was likely asked to pick it up for her at some point.
Jamee was strong willed, adventurous, and never let anything hold her back, regardless of her disabilities. Jamee had no filter and always spoke what was on her mind, and that’s what we all loved about her. She was loved deeply and admired by many for her strength, humor, and liveliness. She had an effortless ability to brighten people’s days, and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Jamee is survived by her stepfather Eric Golbinec, stepmother Jill Bernthisel, sisters Jennifer (Jim) McVeigh of Haskins, Ohio and Christy (Darren) Low of Jacksonville, Florida and brother Chad Bernthisel of Perrysburg, Ohio, nieces and nephews Emily, Allison, Stephanie, Nathan, Jessica, AJ, Avery, step-siblings Eric, Mike, & Jennifer, Cousins Scott & Jill, Jeff & Sharon, Brian & Renee, Jasen, Shari & Jeff, Lisa, Amy & Shawn, Sean, Matt, & Zach and special friends Marina Williford and Kisha Slater.
Jamee was not alone during her journey to heaven. Her mother, Stanna Golbinec, was by her side in hospice, passing away exactly 25 hours after Jamee on February 7.
Jamee was preceded in death by her father James Bernthisel.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 12, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, Ohio 43566. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
