James D. “Jim” Barry, 73, of Cygnet, Ohio passed away Wednesday August 10, 2016. He was born February 23, 1943 in Tomah, Wisconsin to Edward and Bernice (Jahns) Barry. He married Judith Swope on December 28, 1959 and she survives in Cygnet.
Jim worked as a welder for the Hayden Company in Bowling Green and then Azor in North Baltimore. Later he worked as a semi-trailer mechanic at Highway Trucking in Findlay where he retired. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, farming and fishing. What brought him the most joy in life was spending time with his friends and family at campfires and cookouts.
Along with his wife of 56 years, Judie, Jim is survived by his son Jeffrey (Joni) Barry of North Baltimore, Ohio, daughters JoAnn Barry of Cygnet, Ohio, Julie (George) Childress of Wayne, Ohio and Chris (Mike) Rumer of Cygnet, Ohio. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother Jack Barry of Middleton, Wisconsin and sisters Barbara Brandell of Anchorage, Alaska and Lois Murray of Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
Services for Jim will be private for the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home, 408 West Wooster Street in Bowling Green.
Memorial contributions may be given in Jim’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
