Janis L. Long, 86, of Bowling Green, Ohio went home to be with her savior,Thursday November 28, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born July 28, 1933 to the late Wayne and Theone (Clymer) Otley. She married Theodore F. “Ted” Long September 8, 1953, he proceeded her in death September 9th, 1968.
A life long resident of Bowling Green, Janis worked at the Rossford Ordinance Depot, and LaSalle’s in B.G. before becoming a stay at home mother to her beloved daughter. Janis enjoyed traveling, reading playing the organ, and Big Band music. She loved watching NASCAR and Indy car races, and reading scripture. She also enjoyed playing the organ while her husband Ted played the saxophone with her. Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Brian) Smith of Bowling Green, grandchildren Morgan Smith of Toledo, Ohio and Allison (Parker) Schaible of Perrysburg, Ohio and great-grandchild Kanen Schaible.
Also preceding her in death were her parents Wayne and Theone, and in laws Theodore R. and Evelyn Long.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday December 5, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Larry Swaisgood will officiate. Interment will follow at Wood County Memory Gardens in Bowling Green. A luncheon will be held at Stone Ridge golf course,1553 Muirfield Dr, Bowling Green immediately following.
Memorial contributions can be given in her memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
