Bowling Green Councilman At-Large Jeff Dennis has announced his intent to seek another term in 2023.

In announcing his intent to run, Dennis said, “Our community has a lot to be proud of. We’re seeing some really positive momentum, but there’s plenty of work left to do.”

Dennis vowed to continue advocating for:

  • Greater access to safe, affordable housing;
  • Better pedestrian and bike infrastructure;
  • Improving the city’s ability to attract and retain young families; and
  • Prioritizing investments in sustainability.

“Our public schools are another top priority for me this year,” he continued. “Long-term investments in our schools are critical if we hope to preserve our property values, maintain our streets and sidewalks, and attract good paying jobs to our community.

“In addition to making our public schools a focal point in my discussions with voters this year, I’ve already started meeting with concerned parents, business owners, and potential school board candidates to discuss how we might work together to pursue state and local funding, create safer routes to and from schools, and provide our kids with the up-to-date learning environments they need in order to compete for the jobs of tomorrow. This is a watershed moment for our community and we simply cannot afford to put this critical infrastructure off any longer.”

Dennis was appointed to Bowling Green City Council in January 2021 to serve the remainder of the term of Neocles Leontis. He currently chairs the Sustainability Committee and serves on the Community Improvement and Transportation & Safety committees. He previously chaired the Public Utilities Committee.

Dennis is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Bowling Green Arts Council, Citizens for BG Dog Parks, the Parklet Project, and serves on the board of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Bowling Green Branch.

He runs a non-profit foundation that secures funding for local charitable organizations and works as an attorney practicing primarily in the areas of real estate, trust and estate planning, family law, and civil litigation.

He and his wife, Jessica, reside on Clay Street with their 1-year-old daughter, Reese.
