Joanne E Shapler, 82, of Whitehouse and formerly of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away, Sunday, August 23, 2020. She was born on May 24, 1938 to the late Clair and Marjorie (Harwalt) Ritchey in Toledo. She married Thomas Shapler on June 9, 1956 and they were married for 59 years until he passed away in 2015.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Valorie Shapler of Whitehouse, Ohio and son Thomas (Katheryn) Shapler of Bowling Green, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her siblings Carolyn and Clair Jr.
Joanne worked as an Art and Crafts Director and taught ceramics for the Lucas County Juvenile Courts until she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and horses. She loved interior design, making stain glass and bird watching.
Memorial Contributions in Joanne’s honor may be gifted to Wood County Humane Society, or Toledo Area Humane Society. St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
