John Earl Musgrave, 93, of Bloomdale, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio. He was born in Whittier, California, on October 2, 1930 to the late Earl W. and Marcella (Godwin) Musgrave. He married his wife, Mary Kathryn (Wise) Musgrave on May 27, 1955 and she preceded him in death on January 24, 1998.
John is survived by his children: Dale (Sharon) Musgrave, of Phoenix, Arizona, Chris (Holly) Musgrave, of Bloomdale, Sherry Musgrave, of Bloomdale, and Anita Park, of Fostoria; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one, great-great-grandchild; and his sister Yvonne (David) Andrews, of Salida, Colorado. In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Haupt.
John was known for his awesome sense of humor. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford in Rossford, Ohio, in 1991. John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, yard work, collecting beer steins, and watching WWE, Ohio State Football, military movies, historical documentaries, and old Westerns.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, from 10:00AM, until the time of his funeral service at 11:00AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay. Military honors will be offered by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
