John R Tillman

John Robert Tillman, age 75, of Bowling Green, OH, passed away April 9, 2017. He was born in Cleveland, OH on June 23, 1941 to parents Harry & Elsie Tillman. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1964. He was employed by General Electric for 25 years and continued his career in the carbide and metallurgy industry until the time of his death. A career salesman, John was dedicated to his customers and committed to developing close and lasting relationships, many of which spanned the entirety of his working years. He had a gregarious and out-going personality and a smile that never faded. While his grandson was in high school, John enjoyed sports and band events where he enthusiastically shouted his signature line, “You Da Man” cheering on the kids and endearing him to many in the community. John is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deloris, daughter Lisa (Kevin) Zychowicz (grandson Joshua (Anne Tillman), daughter Barbara (Rodney) Harano (granddaughters Sarah and Ashley Harano). He is also survived by his sister Judith of Columbus, OH, brother Danielson of Parma, OH and many nieces and nephews. Grandpa will be sorely missed by Lili, his faithful canine companion these past three years.

Visitation for John will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster St./P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, OH 43402. Tele: 419-352-2171. Funeral Services for John will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Remembrance Chapel. Interment will be private for the family in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green, Ohio
