Joseph “Joe” E. Carpenter, 62, was called by God to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2023. He died peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born March 8, 1961, in Lima, Ohio to Walter “Scott” and Vondah (Doe) Carpenter. On July 9, 2011 he married Deb Ebka at Abiding Word Lutheran Church, Bowling Green, Ohio.
Joe graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School. He was an Aflac agent for over 30 years. He was a member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church, a past council member and enjoyed organizing and participating in various activities at the church. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and cheering for his favorite teams. He was an avid fan of The University of Michigan and BGSU sports. He loved cheering on his young family and friends when they played football, basketball, baseball, track or bowling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, William Carpenter, Delphos, father-in-law Robert (Lois) Ebka, Napoleon, sisters-in-law Pam (Rick) Flick, Deshler, Barb (Roger) Sergent, Pemberville and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and sisters Kim Wagoner, Leslie Rison and Jackie Kwasigroh.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday April 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Abiding Word Lutheran Church, 17021 Mercer Rd. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Officiating will be Pastor Sam Johnson. Interment will follow at Pemberville Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
