Juan Perez Almaguer, 85, of Weston, Ohio passed away on Tuesday January 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 24, 1938, to Ricardo and Guadalupe (Perez) Almaguer in Vera Cruz, Mexico. On August 10, 1966, he married the love of his life, Dominga Sanchez, who survives him in Weston, Ohio. Their union lasted nearly 62 years and created a legacy of love and commitment.
An active member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green, Ohio, Juan lived a life rich in simple joys and shared experiences. In his retirement, he found contentment in the small pleasures of life – sitting by his garden with his wife and dogs, cookouts, sipping tea, and taking drives down memory lane with his family. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he also enjoyed watching wrestling in the evenings.
During his prime, he and his wife could be found dancing at various events, collecting knives, working in his tool shed, and building old model cars. However, above all else, he treasured the moments spent with his family. Juan’s departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Juan is his wife, Dominga, and their devoted children: Javier Almaguer of Grand Rapids, Ohio; Juan Jr. (Guadalupe) Almaguer of Weston, Ohio; Jamie (Jessica) Almaguer of Napoleon, Ohio; Delia (Steve) Warren of Weston, Ohio; and Dalia (Harold) Wheeler of Bowling Green, Ohio. His legacy further extends to 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Juan is preceded in death by his brother Arturo Perez Almaguer, sister Irma Salinas, two grandchildren, Jarrid and Justin and daughter-in-law Lisa Annette Harden. In mourning his passing, we celebrate a life well-lived and remember the enduring impact of Juan’s love and warmth on those fortunate enough to have shared in his journey.
Memorial contributions may be given in Juan’s memory to St. Aloysius Catholic church in Bowling Green, Ohio.
A visitation will be held on Monday February 5, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:45 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio 408 W. Wooster St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday February 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic church 150 S. Enterprise St. Bowling Green, Ohio. Father Tom McQuillen will officiate. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery.
