Kathleen ‘Kattie’ Kempf

Kathleen Margaret “Kattie” Kempf, 92, of Custar, Ohio passed away Sunday night, August 27, 2023 at Wood Haven Health Care, Bowling Green, Ohio.

She was born July 28, 1931 in Custar to the late Clarence Wilhelm and Margaret (Maas) Wilhelm Stoll.  
Born and raised in rural Custar, Kattie was a graduate of Milton Township High School.  On July 25, 1953 she married Robert “Whitey” Kempf at St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar.  They shared over 61 years together before he preceded her in death on April 22, 2015.

She was a lifetime member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society and member of Norcross-Meyers American Legion Post #305 Auxiliary.

Kattie was devoted to her home and family.  She was such a meticulous homemaker and an exceptional seamstress.  Her skills were so good, she offered her services as a housekeeper in the Bowling Green area and her services to anyone in need of an alteration or repair.  She was proud to contribute to all of her children’s weddings by making all the bridesmaid dresses.  She kept the outside of her home in order as well, remaining active by tending to beautiful flower and vegetable garden.

She will forever be remembered and cherished as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
   
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Debra) Kempf; Allan Kempf; Marlene Trumbull; Lynne (Michael) Himburg; Dale (Theresa) Kempf; 7 grandchildren, Sara (Danny) Dec; Eric Kempf; Kenneth Trumbull; Aleasha (Salvador) Delgado; Amanda Kempf (Chris Boyer); Ashley Himburg; Mykayla Ortega (Garrett Kirby); 6 great grandchildren, Khloe Dec; Olivia Dec; Paisley Dec; Gabriel Dec; Julian Delgado; Max Delgado; sister, Betty (Jack) Whitacre and sister-in-law, Mary Wilhelm   She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Trumbull; sister, Nancy (Eugene) Adler; brothers, Marvin (Betty) Wilhelm; Richard Wilhelm and step-father, Leo Stoll.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar with Fr. Jeffery Walker officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery and a luncheon will follow in the school basement. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.  Visitation will also be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Thursday at the church prior to the Mass. The family suggests memorials to the Milton Township Fire District.
