Kress throws shutout as Bobcats beat Springfield

Nate Kress shut down Springfield, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Bowling Green Varsity Bobcat Baseball to a 1-0 victory on Wednesday.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Kress struck out 11, while Springfield pitchers sat down two.

One bright spot for Springfield was a single by Thomley in the fifth inning.

Kress pitched Bowling Green to victory. The righthander went seven innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out 11.

Adam Iserman was on the mound for Springfield. The pitcher lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out two. Scott threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Ryan Jackson, Luke Johnson, Brady Gaines, Brayden Clauson, Braden Loomis, Brock Hastings, and Cam Deiter had one hit each to lead the Bobcats.

Thomley led Springfield with one hit in three at bats.
