From WOOD COUNTY DISTRICT PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Wood County District Public Library, in partnership with BGSU’s In the Round speaker series, will be hosting author Shane Hawk for a discussion of his literary work. Hawk will speak in the library atrium on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and no reservations are required.
A member of the Arapaho and Cheyenne Tribes, Hawk is known for editing the acclaimed best-selling indigenous horror anthology series “Never Whistle at Night.” The second installment, “Part II: Back for Blood,” was released in August of 2026. He is also a contributing editor at Counterpoint Press specializing in works by Native and First Nations writers.
The following evening, Oct. 23, at 5:30 p.m., Hawk will give a lecture at BGSU’s Wolfe Center for the Arts. At 7:30 p.m. the same night, he will also lead a “spooky night walk” on the Slippery Elm Trail.
