Larry Book

Larry Dean Book, 83, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Sunday January 26, 2020 with his wife by his side. He was born May 21, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to the late James and Carol (Simmons) Book. He married Judith Clark on August 6, 1969 and she survives in Bowling Green. 

Larry began his working career at People’s Supply, he later went on to work for Bob Goldman as a manager at Goldman Car Parts which he eventually purchased and changed to Book’s Car Parts. He co-owned and operated Book & Horner Marathon, ran Book’s Bike & Lawn Mower, served as an Auxiliary Police Officer with the Bowling Green Police Division, was a salesman for Great Lakes Ford and finished his career working for Wood County in the parts department, retiring in 2005. 

He was a member of Rudolph Christian Church and a devoted follower of Christ. Larry was a hard worker, never resting until all the work was done. He was very handy, extremely organized and was always looking to make things easier for himself and those around him.  
He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and building car and boat models. His greatest joy in life came from the time he spent with his family whom he loved dearly. 

Along with his wife of 50 years, Judy, Larry is survived by his children Gary (Marianne) Book of Weston, Ohio, Tim Book (Barbara Bilow) of Perrysburg, Ohio, Matthew (Stephanie) Book of Elmore, Ohio and Debra (Paz) Obregon of Jerry City, Ohio, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ron (Sharon) Book of Florida and sister Sharon Pogan of Bowling Green, Ohio. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Mike. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. His funeral service will be held on Thursday January 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Larry Garzony will officiate. Interment will follow at Eisenhower Cemetery. Additional visitation will be held Thursday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. 

Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Wood County Humane Society.
