AP has declared a win for Issue 1. Issue 2 continues to lead.

Locally with al 27 precincts reporting the bond levy to build a new Bowling Green high school has handily won.

With all city precincts reporting, here are the unofficial results.

BG Mayor:

  • Mike Aspacher, 5,948
  • Joe DeMare, 2,104

City council at large:

  • Jeff Dennis, 4,953
  • Eric Peck, 3,239

City council first ward:

  • David Drain, 186
  • Damon Sherry, 369

Board of Education:

  • Steve Bateson, 3,735
  • Rick Busselle, 946
  • Joe Edens, 3,346
  • Howard “Ardy” Gonyer, 3,735
  • Steven Goyer, 1,351
  • Tracy Hovest, 3,871
  • Brian Paskvan, 3,502
  • Peggy Thompson, 3,719

(Busselle dropped out of the race, but his name remained on the ballot.)

High school bond levy:

  • For, 6,296, 58.58%
  • Against, 4,451, 41.42%

Issue 1:

  • YES – 1,387,589 (55.32%)
  • NO – 1,120,796 (44.68%)
