Leatha Lou (Spoores) Putt passed away October 18, 2016. Leatha was born March 4, 1933 in Rudolph, OH to John and Mae (Evans) Spoores. She graduated from Milton High School in 1951 and went to work at Newberry’s in Bowling Green. There a co-worker Marcella (Putt) Seeger introduced her to her brother Roland.
Leatha married Roland Putt on December 23, 1952 in her parents’ home while he was on leave from the Marines. They moved to California in 1956 and she enjoyed being a stay at home Mother for many years. They grew homesick for Ohio and moved their family back to Bowling Green in 1966. Leatha worked for several years at FW Woolworth’s in Bowling Green and later worked for Capital Plastics until retiring. She loved sewing, ceramics and baking for her family, especially her grandsons. She always had cookies or treats to send home with anyone who visited. They spent their last years in Michigan.
Survived by daughter Pamela Hill of Ypsilanti, MI, son Philip Putt of Bowling Green, grandsons Christopher Hill of Xenia, Shaun Hill of Ypsilanti, MI and Jeremy (Crystal) Hill of Toledo and great-grandson Devin and great-granddaughter Kaila, sisters Gertrude (Dale) Lockwood, Maxine Repasz, Ruth Traver, Ila (Doug) White, Norma Bostelman, and Mary (Dave) Dilsaver.
She was preceded in death by husband Roland, her parents, and brothers Paul Spoores, James Spoores, John Spoores, and Walter Spoores.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. Interment will follow at Wood County Memory Gardens in Bowling Green. Visitation will begin on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
