Library closed Thursday to prepare for Novel Night

Wood County District Public Library in Bowling Green will be closed Thursday, July 18 to prepare for the Library Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Novel Night. Previously held at Schedel Gardens and Arboretum in Elmore, the fundraiser has steadily increased in popularity over the years, eventually outgrowing the Schedel venue. To better accommodate its growth, the decision was made to move this year’s event to the Bowling Green library.

“We apologize to Bowling Green library users for any inconvenience caused by Thursday’s closing in BG,” said library director Michael Penrod. “As the saying goes, ‘this is a good problem to have.’ All proceeds from Novel Night are used to purchase new books for all of WCDPL—more new books than we otherwise could, thanks to Novel Night attendees’ generosity!”

On Thursday the Walbridge library and bookmobile will observe their regular hours of operation. The Bowling Green library will resume its regular business hours (9 am – 6 pm) on Friday, July 19. For more information about Novel Night, contact the library at 419-352-5104.
