Meet Lilac, who is currently residing at the Wood County Dog Shelter – but is struggling a little bit and needs a home where it isn’t so loud and stressful, according to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.
Lilac is 3-4 years old, spayed, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated. She loves hanging out in the dog shelter office and playing with stuffed animals. She is an expert napper and has the best little snore when she is sleeping, Harding said.
She loves to go for walks and does great on a leash. She often carries her toys around with her.
Lilac unfortunately was attacked by another dog and since then has been defensive around other dogs, according to Harding. Because of this, shelter staff think she would do best as the only dog in the home.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
